Africa Child Rights Enrolls Educational Programs in Rural Areas

Africa Child Right (ACR) is a Nonprofit organization operating from Nigeria but with outreach activities in several African countries. This nonprofit organization is committed towards enhancing good health of children, education and fostering child security through protection from violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect.

The coordinator and policy strategist of ACR understand that, the covid 19 pandemic has tremendously affected educational systems worldwide which has led to the closure of schools across all levels with maximum impact on children. However as restrictions are been reduced in Nigeria and other countries, schools remain closed.

It is in light of this that and as informed by the UNESCO recommendation of  the use of social distance learning programmes that Africa Child Right in its effort towards bridging the educational inequality gap in inner cities of Nigeria that largely house the most deprived, poor and vulnerable children of school going age by introducing the LITERACY EDUCATIONAL BRIDGE PROGRAM (LEBP)

This fully sponsored educational exercise has seen over twenty redundant teachers engaged in a paid community volunteer teaching exercise in different deprived localities. This project has seen several lower primary children from the ages of 7 to 12 who before galavanted around or where hawking on the streets with petty goods on sale benefit from the daily tutorship of our trained volunteer teachers in an environment that conforms with standard social distancing.

Africa Child Right have made available logistics such as books, boards, pens, pencils, nose masks, water, soap, hand sanitizers and many others, to aid in learning cognizance of covid.

This project will run continuously till schools resume and will see children from underprivileged homes attend class under the tutorship of experienced teachers in a social distancing conscious but all encompassing environment.  ACR will continue to gather resources and recruit more  teachers to expand this project for the greater benefit of the children in the many communities.
