DRAMA AND POETRY CLUB FORMED IN KANYINI D/A JHS
The Nadowli-Kaleo District Director for Centre for National Culture (CNC) and his team paid a working visit to Kanyini D/A Junior High School.
The District Director, Mr. Mulumba Ngmenlabagna Songsore led the team to sensitize the students on the importance of culture. Thus, the values more especially how we co-exist as a people.
Culture teaches morals, and we learn so many things through culture from entertainment, tradition, the work we do, what we wear, eat and almost everything we do in life.
They came to form the first ever Poetry Club in the Nadowli- Kaleo District of the Upper West Region.
The students thrilled the team with beautiful and powerful poems in both English and Dagaare. In fact, the students exhibited their talents and to the dismay of the team, some of the students wrote their own poems and they were beautiful, insightful and entertaining ones.
The team brought nose masks branded in Centre for National Culture and each student received one nose mask and they equally donated reading books to the school and each student grabbed a copy.
The team motivated and encouraged the students to take their studies serious to enable them meet their aspirations in life.
The Headmaster and Staff were so grateful and thankful to the Centre for choosing the Kanyini community and school amongst the lot.
That was the maiden club to be formed by the Centre for National Culture and they pledged to form more of such clubs in the district and the region at large.
