Gwollu Gets New Roads

The importance of road posits myriad advantages to community development hence must be a priority for any governmental body or organization seeking the trueness of community development. Roads are of vital importance and makes crucial contribution to economic development, growth and bring important social benefits by opening a particular geographic location for the associated developments that comes with an organized road network.

It is for this reason that the District Assembly headed by Mr. Mohammed Zakaria Bakor, DCE for the Sissala West District has defied odds considering the woefully inadequate internal generated funds that is geared at augmenting the common fund in fashioning development but spearheading the agenda of constructing a 10km road network within the district to open it up for development. He intends to pursue this road agenda to other surrounding communities to equally open them up for development and has called for more support from the government, cooperate bodies and NGO’s.

Development in Gwollu has been long overdue considering the significance that town has offered to mother Ghana. It must be noted that, the town situated in the Upper West Region of Ghana has produced no mean a person but the Former President of the Republic of Ghana (Late Dr. Hilla Limann). The town also houses the historical tourist anti-slave defense wall built in the 19th century to protect natives from slave European raiders.
